
The Africa Kabaddi Union (AKU) is thrilled to announce the Africa Women Cup 2025, set to take place from April 5th to 6th, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya. This highly anticipated Standard Style Women’s Kabaddi Tournament will bring together the best women’s kabaddi teams from across Africa, promising two days of intense competition, camaraderie, and celebration of women’s sports.
Tournament Highlights
- Dates: April 5th–6th, 2025
- Venue: Nairobi, Kenya
- Weigh-In: April 5th, 2025, at 6:00 AM (Only players 75kgs and below eligible)
- Live Broadcast: All matches will be streamed live on the Africa Kabaddi Union YouTube Channel, with highlights aired on major TV stations across Africa.
Team Registration Requirements
Each participating country must submit the following by March 15th, 2025, at 11:59 PM E.A.T:
- 12 Players
- 1 Coach
- 1 Team Manager
- 1 Technical Official
- Passport-size photographs and identity documents for all team members
- Digital copy of the national anthem and a standard-sized national flag
Team Responsibilities
Participating teams will be responsible for:
- Travel arrangements to and from Nairobi, Kenya
- Accommodation and meals
- Playing kits and any other essentials
What AKU Will Provide
The Africa Kabaddi Union will ensure a seamless experience by providing:
- A world-class playing venue
- Certified match officials
- On-site basic medical first aid
- Awards for top performers, including:
- Gold medals and trophy for the 1st place team
- Silver medals and trophy for the 2nd place team
- Bronze medals and trophy for the 3rd place team
- Individual Awards: Best Raider, Best Defender, and Most Valuable Player (MVP)
Tournament Format & Schedule
Nine countries will participate, divided into 3 pools of 3 teams each. Fixtures and pooling will be released on March 15th, 2025.
Day 1: April 5th, 2025
- 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Opening Ceremony & Team Introductions
- 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Preliminary Matches
Day 2: April 6th, 2025
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM: Semi-Finals & Finals
- 4:00 PM: Awards Ceremony & Team Departure
Rules & Regulations
All matches will follow the International Kabaddi Federation’s official rules and regulations. A detailed set of tournament guidelines will be shared with each participating federation upon confirmation of participation.
